How do I find out if I’m eligible for help with Medicare costs?
Call your state’s Medical Assistance or Medicaid office. They can answer questions about programs like Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly Helps individuals over the age of 55 live independently in their communities for as long as possible by providing them with a combination of medical, social and long-term care services. PACE is available only in states that have chosen to offer it as part of their Medicaid program. I have questions about choosing a plan and my rights under Medicare. How do I get help?
Your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers free counseling to help you make decisions about Medicare coverage. In some states, this program is called the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP). Visit Medicare.gov to find information on your state’s SHIP or HICAP.
